Huizenga, Upton Encourage Army Corps to Dredge Holland Harbor

Today, Congressman Bill Huizenga (MI-02) and Congressman Fred Upton (MI-06) issued the following joint statement after writing the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to discuss their concern over the lack of funding for dredging Holland Harbor in the FY 2020 Budget.

“The Holland Harbor serves as a major regional port on the Great Lakes, generating nearly $68 million in business and supporting over 400 jobs. It also is home to a station for the United States Coast Guard and the Ottawa County Sherriff’s Office marine division. As such an important harbor to our districts and the entire state, we urge the USACE to provide the funding needed to ensure that the Holland Harbor continues to be an engine of economic activity for our community.”
