Huizenga Calls for a Vote to Protect Children Who Survive an Abortion, Democrats Say No

Last night, Congressman Bill Huizenga spoke on the House floor calling for Nancy Pelosi and Democrat Leadership to allow a vote on the Born-Alive Survivors Protection Act. This legislation would require babies who survive a failed abortion to receive the same medical treatment as a child born at the same stage of life. Democrats rejected Congressman Huizenga’s motion to save these lives. Sadly, this is the 33rd time this year Democrats have rejected Republican efforts to protect these innocent lives. Below is video of Congressman Huizenga calling for a vote on this life and death issue and Democrats saying no.

“It’s time for the House to go on record and hold a vote,” said Congressman Huizenga. “It’s hard to believe that in 2019, Democrats are openly denying an innocent child the ability to make their mark on the world. I would have never imagined that this would be a partisan fight. Speaker Pelosi and her lieutenants have blocked this vote from taking place 33 times now. I believe we should create a culture that respects and values life. The American people deserve to know where their representatives stand on this truly life or death issue.”
