Huizenga Welcomes 129 New American Citizens in Holland

On Friday, Congressman Bill Huizenga (MI-02) joined staff from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, members of the community, and Herrick District Library staff in celebrating 129 people becoming U.S. citizens. The Herrick Library was filled with friends, family, and excitement for this historic moment. The newly minted Americans came from countries across the globe, spanning from Bhutan to Zambia.

“Naturalization ceremonies are some of my favorite moments because you can see the sheer joy and excitement not only on the faces of those becoming citizens, but on the faces of their friends and families as well,” said Congressman Bill Huizenga. “It is an exciting day for West Michigan and we are thrilled to have these new citizens be a part of our community. Congratulations and thank you for making the decision to become an American.”
