Huizenga Statement on Pentwater and White Lake Receiving Federal Dredging Funds

Today, Congressman Bill Huizenga (MI-02) released the following statement after U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced that additional funding has been provided to dredge harbors in Pentwater and White Lake.
“The harbors in Pentwater and White Lake play an integral role in the local and state economy. Ensuring the federal government lives up to its commitment to recreational harbors has been a priority of mine since coming to Congress. This announcement by the Army Corps of Engineers is welcome news for West Michigan, especially for the residents of Pentwater, Montague, and Whitehall.” According to the final fiscal year 2018 work plan allocation that was released by the Army Corps of Engineers, Pentwater is scheduled to receive $265,000 in FY 2018 and White Lake is scheduled to receive $305,000 in FY 2018. This is previously approved funding that had not yet been designated for a specific project by the Corps. |
