Huizenga Statement on Speaker Ryan
Washington,
April 11, 2018
Today, Congressman Bill Huizenga released the following statement after Speaker Ryan announced he would be retiring from Congress: “I want to thank Speaker Ryan for his leadership, friendship, and dedication to the conservative movement. When Paul chaired the House Budget Committee his detailed and thoughtful analysis demonstrated to the nation why we must address the mandatory spending programs driving our debt. As Chair of the House Ways and Means Committee, he laid the groundwork for the largest tax overhaul in thirty years. And when his colleagues in Congress called on him to lead a divided Republican Conference and become Speaker of the House, he answered the call. “Because of Speaker Ryan’s leadership taxpayers are able to keep more of their hard-earned money instead of sending it to Washington, businesses of all-sizes are able to expand and create jobs more effectively, and a growing number of hardworking families in Michigan and across America are climbing the ladder of economic opportunity to achieve success and financial security. “I wish Paul all the best and blessings to him and his family as they take their next step.” |
