Huizenga Votes to Strengthen Military, Support Troops
Washington,
July 14, 2017
Today, Congressman Bill Huizenga released the following statement after voting in support of the National Defense Authorization Act of Fiscal Year 2018 (NDAA) which passed the House with bipartisan support by a vote of 344 to 81.
“This important legislation is a major step forward in restoring military readiness, enhancing cyberspace capabilities, and protecting American lives by strengthening our missile defense system. The NDAA also provides our troops with their largest pay increase in eight years while ensuring that military families receive the benefits they deserve. Lastly, this bill improves how the Pentagon operates by using private sector audits to improve efficiency for taxpayers and modernizing the acquisitions process to eliminate costly bureaucratic red tape. In today’s complex and challenging environment, Congress must work to ensure our men and women in uniform have the resources they need to complete their mission. The bipartisan National Defense Authorization Act achieves this objective.” |
