Washington,
July 11, 2017
Today, Congressman Bill Huizenga (MI-02) issued the following statement after the House Appropriations Committee released legislation to fully fund the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI):
“The health and vitality of the Great Lakes are instrumental to sustaining economic growth in Michigan and across the entire Great Lakes region. By fully funding the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative at $300 million, the House of Representatives continues to make the preservation and health of the Great Lakes a priority. While the appropriations process is not yet finalized, this legislation is a critical first step. As Co-Chair of the House Great Lakes Task Force, I look forward to working with both Republicans and Democrats to protect and strengthen the Great Lakes.” |
