Huizenga Votes To Cut Over 5 Trillion in Government Spending, Balance Budget In 10 Years
Washington,
April 10, 2014
Congressman Bill Huizenga (MI-02) released the following statement after voting in support of the House FY 2015 budget resolution that passed today by a vote of 219 to 205:
"The problem is clear: Washington is addicted to spending. This legislation cuts $5.1 trillion and brings the budget into balance in 10 years. Neither the House Democrat proposal, nor the President's spending plan EVER bring the nation's budget into balance. Senate Democrats have made the decision to not even produce a budget. That's not leadership. That's not vision. That's not acceptable. "In contrast, this House-passed Budget takes a strong step in the right direction by focusing on growing the economy and shrinking the size of the federal government. Lastly, this budget creates a better future for the next generation by putting the nation on the path to pay off the debt entirely." |
