Huizenga: Bipartisan Action Better Than President's Economic Talk
WOOD Radio - John C. Smith - Wednesday, July 24th 2013

A Zeeland Congressman said President Obama is choosing the easy path by talking about a better economy, rather than working hard with Congress to create jobs.

Bill Huizenga told WOOD Radio "that's where I think my frustration is when it comes to the President talking about how we're going to revitalize the economy. We've had five and a half years and he's been failing."

The congressman also took exception to Obama's statement that "executive action" may be needed to achieve some of the goals. "It went to the Supreme Court with the National Labor Relations Board and a number of other (issues). The President's got to learn to figure out how to work with the Senate and work with the House to get a bipartisan solution to these issues."

The congressman was also perplexed by talk of infrastructure projects being created to get people working. "The President doesn't have enough money to keep the White House doors open, I'm kind of curious what makes him think he's going to have the money for new, massive spending initiatives." Huizenga said the public should take that as a sign the administration will be after higher taxes to fund the work.
