Huizenga: The Obama Administration Declares White House Closed To Public, Open To Donors
Washington,
March 5, 2013
Congressman Bill Huizenga (MI-02) released the following statement after learning President Obama has decided to close the White House to the general public:
"It is simply embarrassing that President Obama would decide to close the doors of the White House to the general public, while allowing 'pay to play' access for his friends and high-paying donors. The notion that modest across the board cuts would cause the White House to close its doors is laughable. The latest move by the Obama Administration to end tours of the White House is either a sorry scare tactic or a new low in demonstrating their inability to manage even the most simple of budgetary tasks. I would encourage residents of the Second District who have planned a vacation to Washington, D.C. after March 9th to come visit the Capitol Building where my staff and I will be more than happy to take you on a tour of the People's House." |
