Huizenga Nabs Leadership Role on Fiscal Policy

From MLive's coverage:

"Rep. Bill Huizenga of Zeeland, also now in his second term, announced Thursday he'd been named vice chairman of the House Financial Services Committee's monetary policy and trade subcommittee.

Huizenga said he also was named to the subcommittee on capital markets and government sponsored enterprises.

'I am honored to be named vice chair of the monetary policy and trade subcommittee,' Huizenga said in a statement.

'I look forward to working with both Chairman Jeb Hensarling and Subcommittee Chairman John Campbell to ensure proper oversight of the Federal Reserve,' Huizenga added, 'and to continue to monitor the impact of the euro zone's distress and its effect on the U.S. and global economy.'

...

As part of the larger Financial Services Committee, Huizenga's subcommittee roles ostensibly will center on fiscal policy.

Between the two committees, Huizenga will be among lawmakers examining issues regarding economic growth, domestic monetary policy, international trade, the International Monetary Fund and the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Huizenga's first piece of legislation, a financial privacy bill, was signed into law last year."
