KENT COUNTY, MI – U.S. Rep. Bill Huizenga will spend time Tuesday, Jan. 8, meeting with a variety of constituents in new parts of the Second Congressional District he represents. The Zeeland Republican who just began his second 2-year term plans visits to sites in Grandville and Wyoming.

Huizenga also is scheduled to have lunch at a floriculture meeting in Hudsonville in Ottawa County, which remains part of the Second District.

“He’s meeting with local officials, small businesses, local manufacturers, the (Michigan Floriculture Growers annual meeting) and he’s going to an (Advanced Placement) government class in the afternoon,” spokesman Brian Patrick said. “The district has shifted immensely and Congressman Huizenga is serious about getting to those areas.”

On Huizenga’s agenda: meet with Wyoming city staff and elected council members at City Hall, then at 9 a.m. talk with small business owners at Marge’s Donut Den, 1751 28th St. SW. Huizenga is set for a 10:30 a.m. visit to Detail Technologies, 5900 Cross Roads Commerce Pkwy.

Huizenga plans in the afternoon to meet with an Advanced Placement government class at Grandville High School, Patrick said.

Huizenga has consolidated and relocated his in-district offices to Grand Haven and Grandville to account for congressional redistricting that has added a southern swath of Kent County. He closed his offices in Holland and Muskegon.
