Huizenga Praises Buckley's Appointment To CFPB Council
Washington,
September 13, 2012
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Bill Huizenga (MI-02) issued the following statement after learning of John Buckley's appointment to the Credit Union Advisory Council at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB):
"John Buckley's appointment to the Credit Union Advisory Council will bring a voice of reason to the table. John understands the negative impact on both lenders and small businesses caused by the mountain of burdensome regulations contained within Dodd-Frank. I hope this council will be allowed to be more than a 'show council' that has become so commonplace under the Obama Administration. Lenders must have the flexibility necessary to meet the needs of their small business clients. John Buckley will be an excellent advocate for pro-growth solutions and sensible regulations that will allow for small businesses to expand, invest, and hire more employees." John Buckley is President & CEO of Gerber Federal Credit Union based in Fremont |
