Huizenga Talks ObamaCare Repeal, Senate Democrats Failing To Meet Their Constitutional Duties

Earlier today, Rep. Huizenga was on FOX 17 discussing his town hall with Allegan County farmers, the Supreme Court's decision on ObamaCare, and the impact of ObamaCare on West Michigan small businesses.  Additionally, Congressman Huizenga explained why House Republicans are moving forward with a full repeal of ObamaCare and touched on the failure of the Democrat-controlled Senate to live up to its constitutional obligation to pass a budget.

  • Congressman Huizenga: "We've had some people say 'well if the Senate is not going to do this why are you guys bothering?' The Senate hasn't passed a budget, but that doesn't mean the House shouldn't go through the budget process.  We still need to lay out what our priorities are and what we believe constitutionally we should be doing.  Whether it is inaction on the Senate's part or the President not willing to go along, we still have to do what we believe is the right thing. Obviously in 2012 there was a huge reaction to this healthcare issue when we saw a massive class of 89 freshmen come in and it's not an issue we are done dealing with."
