U.S. Rep. Bill Huizenga, R-Zeeland, Friday said he hoped reports that unemployment rates rose to 9.2 percent and hiring stalled for the month of June are the “wake-up call” the U.S. Senate and president need.
“It has been 800 days since the Senate passed a budget, and they refuse to offer an alternative to the one House Republicans put forth,” Huizenga said in released statement.
He listed a total of nine House-passed jobs bills that he said currently await Senate action.
