Gas Pumping and Energy Discussion With Rep. Huizenga

Jenison Mobil Station

Corner of Baldwin and 20th Ave.

House Republicans have crafted a plan answering the call of Americans who want Washington to get out of the way so we can produce more American energy right here at home and lower energy costs for families and businesses, which ultimately will help small business begin hiring again. Rep. Huizenga would like to hear constituents’ ideas for long-term energy policy, and their thoughts on the House Republicans’ plan, the American Energy Initiative, an ongoing effort that aims to:

  • Expand American energy production to lower costs and create more jobs.
  • Increase our domestic supply of energy in the long run by lifting restrictions on ANWR, the Outer Continental Shelf, and oil shale in the Mountain West.
  • Renew America's commitment to clean and emissions-free nuclear energy.  The Department of Energy has stated the best way for utility companies to reduce carbon emissions is to increase their supply of nuclear energy.
  • Invest in renewable and alternative sources of energy by using revenue generated by the sale of leases.  The House Republican plan also encourages conservation through proven tax incentives.
  • The American people don't want a national energy tax; they want energy independence.  The House Republican plan is the comprehensive energy solution this country desperately needs.
