Huizenga Votes to Prevent Taxpayer Funding For Abortions

U.S. Rep. Bill Huizenga, MI-02, today voted to prevent taxpayer funding of abortion by voting for H.R. 3, which codifies the Hyde Amendment in the tax code. He also spoke on the floor earlier in the day in support of the bill (video below and here.)
“Today, the House is voting not only to protect life, but to protect all taxpayers who do not want to see their hard-earned dollars go to pay for abortions. A similar ban was enacted in D.C. as part of the long-term continuing resolution passed earlier this year, and if it’s good enough to pass for D.C., it’s good enough for America,” Huizenga said. Similar language, known as the Hyde Amendment, was previously included in appropriation bills, and had to be renewed every year. Many polls in recent years have shown the vast majority of Americans oppose using taxpayer money for abortion services:
