U.S. Rep. Bill Huizenga, MI-02, heard from his constituents this week in a series of listening sessions across the district. Huizenga traveled to every corner of the district, hearing thoughts from constituents on the latest work in Congress. He particularly addressed the need to reduce spending and the national debt and deficit, as well as many other issues or concerns about the federal government. “After hearing from my constituents, it is clear that they want less spending, smaller government, private sector job creation and increased domestic energy production,” said Huizenga. “These listening sessions were a great opportunity to understand what issues the second district is most concerned about. I want to continue the conversation as I head back to Washington next week.” Five hundred constituents turned out for seven listening sessions in the past two days. “Thank you to all those who came out to express their concerns and hear more about what is happening in Washington,” Huizenga said. “If you missed these sessions, please contact my office for more information about future listening sessions and telephone townhalls or any other questions or concerns.
