U.S. Rep. Bill Huizenga, MI-02, released the following statement about voting “no” on the long-term government funding agreement:
“Employers and families in Michigan have seen economic pain firsthand over the past decade, and they are ready for their government to make the same sacrifices and tough decisions that they have had to make. While this agreement moves us in the right direction, I don’t believe it moves the dial enough to demonstrate government is prepared to make those same difficult decisions. Americans expect us to do better, and I believe the new budgets put forth by House Republicans are the right step. This is where the real difficult decisions will and must be made,” Huizenga said. ### |
