Huizenga Statement on Short-Term C.R.

U.S. Rep. Bill Huizenga, MI-02, tonight released the following statement on the passage of a short-term C.R. that would fund the government through next Thursday and cut $2 billion in government spending:

"Tonight, I voted to pay our brave servicemen and women in the military who are fighting three different conflicts. The military families in my District must have certainty that they can put food in their cupboards tomorrow and pay their mortgages. It is also very important that Members of Congress and citizens of the 2nd District have the promised 72 hours to examine the proposed long-term Continuing Resolution negotiated by the House, Senate, and White House. Now, I want your feedback. Please e-mail me at huizenga.house.gov/contact or call my office to let me know your thoughts on the long-term C.R. we are set to pass next Thursday, and I look forward to hearing from you on next week's teletown halls. I will post the final text of the long-term funding bill on my website as soon as we have it."
