Huizenga made the following statement after voting against another short-term Continuing Resolution:
“This Congress was sent to Washington in overwhelming numbers with one message: Fix the spending problem. This couldn’t have been more imperative once we hit the record one-month deficit spending, at $223 billion for February. With six Continuing Resolutions since October 2010, it’s far past time to bring certainty to American job creators. We need a budget for the rest of THIS year – which the House has already passed - so we can tackle next year’s budget, start talking about entitlement reform, and deal with the other issues causing our job creators uncertainty and keeping Americans from getting back to work. It’s time the Senate and White House get to work too.” Last year, for the first time since the 1974 Budget Act, Congress did not pass a budget. ###
