Huizenga Statement on October Jobs Report

Washington, D.C., November 4, 2011 | Lauren Phillips ((202) 225-4401)
U.S. Rep. Bill Huizenga released the following statement on the October Jobs Report that national unemployment is over 9 percent:

"Nine percent is too high to not prioritize the passage of common sense, job-creating solutions, like those the House of Representatives has worked on all year.

Even the Democrats in the Senate found the President's 'jobs plan' didn't adequately address the real problems of uncertainty and overspending that have kept the unemployment rate above 9 percent for months on end. More frustrating, they won't propose an alternative, or even pass the 15-plus jobs bills the House has sent them.

Clearly, we need better negotiating partners ready to do their job, so we can put America back to work."
