Huizenga Statement on Elections in Burma

Today, Congressman Bill Huizenga (R-MI) released the following statement regarding elections in Burma.
As long as the junta is overseeing the election process in Burma and refuses to allow true opposition candidates, any election under these circumstances should be viewed as nothing more than a sham. I call on all ASEAN countries to refrain from legitimizing this staged and predetermined outcome. |
