Huizenga Joins Bipartisan Resolution Standing with Israel, Condemning Hamas

Today, Congressman Bill Huizenga (R-MI), a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, released the following statement after joining a bipartisan resolution in support of Israel and condemning the horrific attacks perpetrated by Hamas. This bipartisan resolution was introduced by House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) and Ranking Member Gregory Meeks (D-NY) and is supported by 390 members of Congress.

“This barbaric attack against Israel is completely unacceptable and cannot be tolerated,” said Congressman Bill Huizenga. “With 390 members of Congress coming together to condemn the savagery and atrocities committed by Hamas, it demonstrates the bipartisan strength and resolve of American support for Israel. The House must address this terrorist act as soon as possible.”

“Now is the time to show the world the United States firmly stands with our friend and ally Israel in our condemnation of this heinous attack by Iran-backed terrorists,” said Chairman McCaul. “I expect this bipartisan resolution to be one of the first, if not the first items considered on the floor once we elect a new Speaker. And I expect it to receive overwhelming bipartisan support.”

“President Biden has committed the United States fully to Israel’s self defense,” said Ranking Member Meeks. “Israel is responding to the Hamas terror organization’s unprecedented attack. The bipartisan resolution will demonstrate this is one issue in which the US House of Representatives is united, and I expect it to pass the House with broad bipartisan support.”

Text of the resolution is available here.
