Weekly Column: A New Office to Serve SW Michigan

To better serve constituents along the 1-94 Corridor, I am excited to announce the opening of my new district office in Portage. This location will allow my staff and I to assist more constituents who are having difficulties with the VA, Social Security, Passports, Citizenship and Immigration Services, or any agency within the federal government.

The new office is located at 5228 Lovers Lane in Suite108, across the street from Loy Norrix High School. The office will be open for walk-in service from 9 AM – 4:30 PM Monday through Thursday and by appointment on Friday. The office can also be reached by telephone at (269) 569-8595.

Already this year, my staff has assisted nearly 700 people in successfully navigating an issue with a federal agency, responded to over 15,000 comments and questions from constituents, and helped return over $3,600,000 in taxpayer dollars to residents across the 4th Congressional District.

With July marking six months of serving Michigan’s 4th Congressional District, I am continuing to develop ways to improve communication and constituent services. I believe opening the office in Portage will help achieve this objective while building on my commitment to ensure Washington is working for Southwest Michigan and not the other way around. This office provides another in-person avenue for constituents who are seeking assistance with government services.

I also encourage you to sign up for the Huizenga Huddle. This is an informative newsletter where I provide regular updates on the legislation being debated in the House, how I am serving Southwest Michigan, and how my work on the House Financial Services Committee as well as the House Foreign Affairs Committee impacts communities across the 4thDistrict. You can sign up for the Huddle by visiting Huizenga.House.Gov

It is a privilege to serve as your voice in Congress. If you or someone you know needs help navigating a federal agency, do not hesitate to contact my office in Holland at (616) 251-6741, my office in Portage at (269) 569-8595, or my office in Washington at (202) 225-4401. My team and I are here and eager to assist you.
