Huizenga Votes No on Massive Omnibus Spending Bill
Washington,
March 10, 2022
Last night, Congressman Bill Huizenga (R-MI), released the following statement after voting against the massive omnibus spending bill. “This 2,700+ page bill was released in the dead of the night leaving Congress and the American people little time to read what is actually in the bill. While I support funding for humanitarian and military assistance to Ukraine, that critical funding should have been handled through an emergency supplemental, not lumped in a massive spending package totaling well over a trillion dollars. “Sadly, I have found this bill to be yet another big government monstrosity that is loaded with liberal priorities, contains billions in pork riddled earmarks, and funds Joe Biden’s federal vaccine mandates. “Americans are facing historic inflation, record prices at the pump, and soaring costs at the grocery store. Unfortunately, this spending package will fan the flames of inflation and send costs surging even higher. “Congress must address our nation’s debt crisis, not continue to add to it. Unfortunately, this is yet another missed opportunity for Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, and liberals in the House.”
