Huizenga Honors Veterans and their Families across West Michigan

Over Veterans Day Weekend, Congressman Bill Huizenga (MI-02) joined veterans across West Michigan to honor them and thank them for their service. On Friday, Congressman Huizenga joined more than 200 veterans in Hudsonville at a Consumers Energy Veterans event. Later that day, he participated in a veterans appreciation event at Bayberry Farms in Wyoming. On Saturday, Huizenga celebrated the 100th Anniversary of the American Legion Auxiliary with members of the auxiliary, veterans, and their families at the Roger B. Chaffee American Legion Post 154 in Wyoming.

This morning, Congressman Huizenga joined Grand Valley State University President Philomena Mantella in honoring student veterans, as well as faculty and staff at Grand Valley State University who have served in our Armed Forces. Rep. Huizenga also participated in a Veterans Day Remembrance Ceremony at the Neal E. Fonger American Legion Post 179 outside Grandville. Following these events, Congressman Huizenga released a statement to commemorate Veterans Day.

“Thank you to all of the veterans here in West Michigan and across the nation,” said Congressman Bill Huizenga. “If not for these incredible men and women, we would not have the freedoms we currently enjoy. While we can never repay the debt we owe our veterans, let us strive to improve the mental and physical care our veterans receive as well as strengthen support for the families of those who have answered the call to serve.”
