Huizenga Statement on Federal Court Decision Addressing Separations
Washington,
June 27, 2018
Today, Congressman Bill Huizenga released the following statement in response to a federal judge ruling the Trump Administration must end most separations and reunite those families that have been separated.
“While the actions taken by the Administration as well as those taken by a federal judge in California to end family separations and reunite separated families are both steps in the right direction, neither carries the permanency of law. I have introduced bipartisan legislation, known as the Family Reunification Act that would reunite families and provide legislative clarity to resolve the crisis at hand. Congress must stop outsourcing its Constitutional authority to the Executive and Judicial Branches of government and pass legislation.” Below is the list of Representatives who have cosponsored Congressman Huizenga’s Family Reunification Act.
