U.S. Rep. Bill Huizenga, R-Zeeland, will host an information session for West Michigan high school students interested in attending a U.S. Service Academy on Saturday, May 12.

The event will be held at the United States Coast Guard Sector Field Office in Grand Haven from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m.

Liaisons from the U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and U.S. Coast Guard Academy will be on hand to provide information and answer questions students or parents may have regarding the service academy process.

“West Michigan is known for having exceptionally motivated and talented young men and women apply for our nation’s Service Academies,” Huizenga said in a press release. “I look forward to meeting with students and their families on Saturday to help them learn more about the unique opportunities the Academies have to offer.”

The U.S. Coast Guard Sector Field Office in Grand Haven is located at 650 S. Harbor Drive.
