Congressman Bill Huizenga (MI-02) released the following statement after voting in support of legislation to strengthen our military, support the Great Lakes, and fund the government for the remainder of the fiscal year.

“Today’s funding bill, while far from optimal, is an improvement over the previous use of continuing resolutions. Despite its shortcomings, the bill provides resources to strengthen border security, improve military readiness, and fully funds efforts to protect the Great Lakes. Additionally, this legislation delivers the largest pay increase for our troops in six years and holds bureaucrats at the EPA and the IRS accountable.

“As the debate shifts to the next funding measure, I will be pushing my colleagues in the House to reduce the size of the federal government further and increase Washington’s accountability to taxpayers.”
