Washington, DC – Congressman Bill Huizenga (MI-02) released the following statement after voting in support of the FY 2016 House Budget: Tonight the Republican-led House passed a budget that balances in less than ten years, doesn’t raise taxes, and cuts $5.5 trillion in spending. This vision is in stark contrast to the unserious ‘budget’ proposal put forward by President Obama that essentially ignores our nation’s debt and never balances. While there is much more work that needs to be done, this budget provides a step forward in the effort to pay down the debt and foster a pro-growth environment where jobs are created and hardworking families across West Michigan can flourish. |
