Huizenga On Keystone XL: State Department Draft A Good First Step Toward Energy Security, Job Creation In America
Washington,
March 1, 2013
Congressman Bill Huizenga (MI-02) released the following statement after the State Department released its draft assessment regarding the environmental impact of the revised Keystone XL pipeline:
"Approval of the Keystone XL pipeline is crucial for American job creation and energy security," said Huizenga. "Today's draft assessment is the first step toward ensuring economic growth, good-paying middle class jobs, and a secure source of energy from our neighbors to the north. The fact is this oil is coming out of the ground one way or the other. The question is, do we want it to provide jobs for hardworking families here in America, or do we want the jobs and infrastructure to go to China? I am encouraged by the initial findings from the State Department's assessment, but it is important to remember the fight to secure jobs and North American Energy is far from over." |
