Holland, Jenison-Area Seniors Invited to Attend Medicare “Check-Up” Events Next TUESDAY Hosted by Huizenga and CMS, MMAP Representatives

**Seniors are invited to attend and encouraged to bring their prescriptions to ensure their Part D coverage is accurate** U.S. Rep. Bill Huizenga, MI-02, next week will host a series of "Check Up" events with Medicare representatives and open to area seniors, to help navigate the open enrollment period for their 2012 prescriptions drug plans, which lasts until December 7. Huizenga will introduce the events in Jenison and Holland, then a representative from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and staff from the Medicare/Medicaid Assistance Program (MMAP) will address specifics of this year's enrollment process and to help seniors ensure the prescriptions they take will still be covered. There will then be time for audience members to ask questions before the event is opened to individualized help with personalized plan finder searches, and to check if there are any restrictions like requiring prior authorization, quantity limits or step therapy. Attendees interested in individualized plan search assistance will need to bring their Medicare card, list of their medications & dosages (frequency and amount) or bring their Rx with them in a bag, to do the plan comparison. If you cannot attend one of the events, please visit Medicare.gov to review the new 2012 Medicare prescription drug plans. You or a family member may use the Plan Finder to compare your options. This number will connect you with a counselor in your area who can assist with the research necessary to make an informed decision.
