Small business optimism is a crucial element in growing our economy. My Republican colleagues and I have worked to empower small businesses by implementing pro-growth policies that lower taxes, reduce over-regulation, increase opportunity, and help create good-paying jobs. The combination of near record high optimism for consumers and small businesses is a good indication that more West Michigan residents are achieving financial freedom and realizing the American Dream.
On this 100th anniversary of the World War I Armistice, I’m especially thankful for my namesake Pvt William Huizenga who fought with the 339th Infantry in Northern Russia. Arriving in September of 1918 the “Polar Bears” didn’t leave until June 1919. There was a great article in The Wall Street Journal this weekend detailing the Polar Bears. Thanks Grandpa! #WWI
