This morning on 1450 WHTC Holland's News Leader I called on VA Secretary Robert McDonald to resign. Not only do his comments reinforce how out of touch the VA remains despite being plagued by scandal, they also demonstrate how meeting the needs of our veterans in a timely manner is not the agency's top priority.
Our military shouldn't have to cannibalize parts from airplanes sitting in museums to fight ISIS. #NDAA provides our men and women with the resources they need to complete their mission. Take a look at the piece Fred Upton & I wrote for the Holland Sentinel News and the Detroit News describing this bipartisan bill.
Our veterans count on the VA for a large portion of their medical care. They aren't looking for the "Disney" Experience, they are looking for quality care in a timely manner. It is quotes like this from VA Secretary McDonald that demonstrate how leadership at the VA still does not understand the scope of the agency's mission.
It was great to discuss how the House is working to reform our outdated tax code, roll back federal government overreach, and rein in the unelected bureaucrats across the Obama Administration at the Fillmore Complex in Ottawa County this morning.
