There’s absolutely nothing in this funding bill that Democrats oppose, and their failure to keep the government open only delays negotiations for a bipartisan DACA fix. My colleagues Rep. Mike Bishop, Rep. Jack Bergman Rep. John Moolenaar, Rep Tim Walberg, Rep. Paul Mitchell and I call on Michigan’s Democrat Senators to be a part of the solution and fund the government, extend the Children’s Health Insurance Program for six years and provide funding for our men and women in uniform. #SchumerShutdown
We must stand together to promote a culture that values and promotes life. It was inspiring to see multiple buses full of Students for Life of Michigan travel to support the unborn during today's #MarchForLife.
Tonight, I voted to keep the government open, support our men and women in uniform, and help low income children by funding CHIP for six years. All of these issues should garner bipartisan support. However, the vast majority of Democrats in Washington seem more interested in playing political games than delivering results.
For weeks, Senator Stabenow has discussed the importance of funding CHIP. Now she will have the opportunity to do so for six years while supporting our troops and keeping the government open. #SchumerShutdown #StabenowShutdown
This afternoon I sat down with Carolyn and Erin of the Mason County Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition to discuss ongoing efforts to combat and prevent "drugged driving." We need to come together as parents, friends, and as a community to address this growing problem.
