U.S. Rep. Bill Huizenga, MI-02, presented the service medals of four 2^nd District veterans at the USS LST 393 this afternoon in Muskegon. They served in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.

“It is one of my proudest moments in office to be able to present veterans and their families with the medals they earned sacrificing so much to serve their country and protect the freedoms we enjoy today,” Huizenga said.

Congressman Huizenga can help any veterans of the 2^nd District obtain the medals they earned during their military service. The family of Corporal David Brown (deceased) will receive the medals he earned while serving in the Army from 1948-1950:

Private First Class Sotero Leyton, who served in the Army from 1943-1945, will receive:

The family of Seaman First Class John Terpsma (deceased) will receive the following medals he earned while serving in the Navy from 1944-1946:

Petty Officer Second Class James Neel, who served in the Navy in multiple stints from 1955-1976, will receive:
