U.S. Rep. Bill Huizenga, MI-02, will present Gloria Johnson of Branch, MI, with her father’s service medals at 9:30 a.m. this Friday at the Scottville Library.
Her father, the late William C. Thurkettle, served as Seaman Second Class in the U.S. Navy during World War II, from 1945-1947. For his service, he earned the following medals:
· Purple Heart Medal · World War II Victory Medal · American Campaign Medal · Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal · Combat Action Ribbon · Discharge Button · Honorable Service Lapel Pin
