In the first video,  I talk about my visit to a processing center where CBP officials had detained 18 people from Senegal who illegally crossed the border in the Del Rio Sector. This area is over triple the number of encounters since President Biden took office. We must restore border integrity. 

I also discuss the technology being deployed about six miles in from the border and the ridiculous six month permitting process that is required to put up these incredibly helpful tools despite them not being dug into the ground. It's also worth noting that ranchers in Texas volunteer to have these portable towers placed on their land. 

My second update was from the International Bridge which connects Mexico and the United States. During my roughly nine minute video, we witnessed two separate groups of people illegally crossing into our nation. 

I wish everyone could see what I saw that day, especially Members of Congress who believe in cutting funding for border patrol. They need to come see how hard the men and women serving our nation on the border work and how tall a task they truly face. 

President Biden and Vice President Harris need to actually visit the border to see the crisis they and their Administration have created. 

On March 3rd, I introduced the Russian Sovereign Debt Prohibition Act of 2022. This legislation will place even tighter restrictions on Russian banks by preventing U.S. financial institutions from buying and servicing Russian debt. This would eliminate another avenue for Vladimir Putin to finance his invasion of Ukraine.

The United States must continue to lead efforts to sanction Russia and I am proud to add this legislation to the arsenal of financial tools intended to do just that. 

Voting Against the Omnibus

This massive 2,700+ page bill was released in the dead of the night leaving Congress and the American people little time to read what is actually in the bill.

While I support funding for humanitarian and military assistance to Ukraine, that critical funding should have been handled through an emergency supplemental, not lumped in a massive spending package totaling well over a trillion dollars.

Sadly, I found this bill to be yet another big government monstrosity that is loaded with liberal priorities, contains billions in pork riddled earmarks, and funds Joe Biden’s federal vaccine mandates.

Americans are facing historic inflation, record prices at the pump, and soaring costs at the grocery store. This spending package will fan the flames of inflation and send already surging costs even higher.

Congress must address our nation’s debt crisis, not continue to add to it.  Unfortunately, this is yet another missed opportunity for Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, and liberals in the House.
