Agriculture and Food

From family farms to larger processing facilities, Michigan’s Fourth Congressional District is home to the world’s hardest working agricultural producers. Our local agricultural industry drives our regional economy, feeds families throughout our nation, and is recognized across the globe. In addition to being the home of “Cereal City,” Southwest Michigan farmers and growers foster a diverse assortment of livestock as well as key specialty crops such as apples, blueberries, cherries, cranberries, and grapes.

It is important for Congress to fight for American Farmers and provide a level playing field where Southwest Michigan farmers, growers, ranchers, and processors producers can not only compete but flourish. As Congress continues to debate various issues impacting agriculture, Congressman Huizenga is focused on standing up for the well-being of local agricultural producers and family farmers.
