A Thanksgiving Day Message

Lately, there has been so much focus on rancor in Washington. This holiday season, I thought I would try something different. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I wanted to share with you some of the people I am thankful to serve with in Congress who work tirelessly to make America the best that it can be.

I am thankful to serve with…

Rep. Young Kim (R-CA), a fellow member of the Financial Services and Foreign Affairs committees, who is a voice for those who are being persecuted around the world.

Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-NY), who I have developed a strong working relationship with to deliver for our constituents. Throughout our years of serving, we have cosponsored 178 bipartisan bills together.

Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-NC), who, in addition to chairing the Financial Services Committee, answered the call to serve as Speaker Pro Tempore during a tumultuous time.

Rep. Scott Peters (D-CA), for his bipartisan leadership on the Fiscal Commission Act. Scott and I are working in a bipartisan manner to confront our nation’s unsustainable fiscal trajectory.

Rep. Cory Mills (R-FL), who, with his team, has rescued more than 100 Americans in Israel from harm’s way, including my son Adrian.

Rep. Monica De La Cruz (R-TX), a member of my ESG Working Group who is focused on real solutions, not Washington’s version of a “telenovela,” as Monica says.

Rep. Jimmy Panetta (D-CA), for joining me on bipartisan legislation to strengthen our agricultural economy by helping Southwest Michigan farmers and specialty crop growers.

Rep. Lisa McClain (R-MI), a strong voice for the people of Michigan and our delegation, who works diligently to protect individual liberties from government overreach.

Rep. Andy Barr (R-KY), a close friend who shares Southwest Michigan values and is fighting to hold the federal government accountable.

I believe the United States is the greatest country in the world. These men and women, among others, work every day to preserve our freedom and increase opportunity for the next generation of Americans. For this, I am incredibly thankful.

From the bottom of my heart, I hope you and your family have a safe and blessed Thanksgiving.
