Today, Congressman Bill Huizenga (MI-04) released the following statement after Representative Mike Johnson was selected as the 56th Speaker of the House.
I am glad to see House Republicans finally come together and unanimously support Mike Johnson. I was very encouraged to hear Speaker Johnson notably call for a bipartisan debt commission to address our national debt and spending immediately. Let’s get to work on the challenges facing our nation by passing my bipartisan Fiscal Commission Act of 2023, finishing our work on appropriations, and securing our border. |
