Huizenga Votes to Create Select Committee on China, Rebuild American Supply Chains, Strengthen Michigan Manufacturing

Today, Congressman Bill Huizenga (MI-04) released the following statement after voting in support of establishing a Select Committee on China in the U.S. House of Representatives:
“The challenges China poses cannot be understated,” said Congressman Bill Huizenga. “We all saw during the pandemic the cascading effects that relying on China for the essentials had on our economy. Whether it is base chemicals, pharmaceuticals, or medical equipment, we need to reestablish our basic domestic supply chains here in America. We need to reshore jobs in the United States and strengthen our Michigan manufacturing base. This Select Committee can be a bipartisan way to not only examine the challenges we face, but craft solutions that create new opportunities and new jobs here in the United States.” |
