VIDEO: Huizenga Votes No on President Biden's Buy Back Voters Act

Today, Congressman Bill Huizenga (R-MI) released the following statement after voting against President Biden and Speaker Pelosi’s multi-trillion-dollar spending spree known as the Buy Back Voters Act.

“This out-of-control spending spree could have been stopped by blocking passage of the infrastructure bill,” said Congressman Bill Huizenga. “Democrats tied the infrastructure bill to this multi-trillion-dollar social spending spree to ensure both measures could pass the House. This is why I referred to the infrastructure bill as the bridge to the land of reckless spending.

“The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has officially said that President Biden and Nancy Pelosi’s Buy Back Voters Act will add $367 billion to the deficit. Keep in mind, the CBO only scores the legislation as written and presented to them. When the budget gimmicks included in this monstrosity are removed and the legislation is placed in a true budget window, the budgetary shortfall will be somewhere between 2 and 3 trillion dollars based on independent analysis. President Biden has consistently lied to Michigan and the nation by claiming his trillions in out-of-control spending is paid for when it is not.

“At the end of the day, President Biden’s Buy Back Voters Act will drive inflation even higher, damage hardworking taxpayers, harm Michigan manufacturers, and further mortgage our children’s, our grandchildren’s, and our nation’s future by increasing deficit spending to fund an out-of-touch liberal agenda.”

Following the vote, Congressman Huizenga provided a live update on Facebook detailing additional policy concerns ranging from taxpayer funded abortion to amnesty provisions for those who are illegally in the United States. The nearly 14 minute update is available below.
