Huizenga Statement on Asian Carp and the Scheduled Release of the Brandon Road Study

Congressman Bill Huizenga (MI-02) released the following statement after the Army Corps of Engineers notified Congress of their intention to release the delayed Brandon Road Study on August 7th. This study will contain recommendations to prevent Asian Carp from entering the Great Lakes.

“I look forward to the release of the Brandon Road Study on August 7th," said Congressman Huizenga, who serves as co-chair of the House Great Lakes Task Force. "This assessment will provide critical information on how to best prevent Asian Carp from entering the Great Lakes ecosystem. Republicans and Democrats have worked in a bipartisan manner to get the Administration to release this document. While the scheduled release of the Brandon Road Study is an important and positive step, it is my hope that we can continue to build upon this bipartisan foundation to enact policies that will protect the Great Lakes.”
