On Saturday morning, Congressman Huizenga presented Specialist Lester Allen Bailey of Luther with the service medals he earned as a flight engineer on a Chinook helicopter during the Vietnam War. Specialist Bailey served two tours in Vietnam. During his first tour, Specialist Bailey served as a member of the 9th Infantry Division. On his second tour, Specialist Bailey served as a member of the 101st Airborne. The medals ceremony took place at VFW Post 5315 in Baldwin. Specialist Bailey's incredible and courageous story was featured in Monday's edition of the Ludington Daily News. 

“It was an honor to present Specialist Bailey with the medals he earned in service to our nation," said Congressman Huizenga. "Lester's courage and dedication while under heavy enemy fire is nothing short of exemplary. Thank you for your service Specialist Bailey, and thank you to the Lake County Community for coming out to support this local hero."
