Today, Congressman Bill Huizenga (MI-02) released the following statement after the inauguration of Donald J. Trump as the 45th President of the United States:
"Today, our nation continued the storied tradition that has become a staple of American Democracy, the peaceful transition of power,” said Congressman Huizenga. “Millions of Americans, including the majority of West Michigan, voted to change the direction of our nation and we have already begun to see the results. Companies are bringing jobs back, investing in America, and most importantly, creating thousands of jobs in Michigan. I look forward to working with President Trump and Vice President Pence to strengthen our economy, end the ‘Washington knows best’ mentality, and make it easier for hardworking families and small businesses across West Michigan to succeed.”
Its no secret the health care system across our nation is collapsing. Today we had the opportunity to repeal ObamaCare and provide relief for hardworking families and small businesses in West Michigan and that opportunity was missed. The problems within ObamaCare are only going to get worse. Eventually my colleagues will have to confront reality.
