Congressman Bill Huizenga (MI-02) released the following statement after voting in support of H.R. 3361, the USA Freedom Act:
"The USA Freedom Act is a bipartisan agreement that takes significant steps in restoring the balance between national security and civil liberties. The changes to the telephone metadata program are needed reforms that enhance privacy safeguards for Americans while affording the intelligence community the tools necessary to protect our nation. I have no doubt the debate over personal privacy and national security will continue and I look forward to having that discussion." |
