Huizenga: Americans Deserve To Know The Truth About Benghazi

This morning, Congressman Bill Huizenga (MI-02) discussed the latest developments regarding Benghazi on Michigan's Morning Show. Testimony by Gregory Hicks, the former Deputy Chief of Mission in Libya, has called into question not only the Obama Administration's handling of the situation on the ground, but also raises questions about whether or not the Administration has willfully misled the American people in the wake of the attacks that led to the death of four Americans including Ambassador Chris Stevens.

New Testimony Directly Counters The Obama Administration's Benghazi Narrative. "When you're looking at direct orders laid down to not get on an airplane and not fly in, that's damning. Frankly it goes counter to exactly what the Administration was saying about how they didn't have enough time to get people there, they didn't have the assets available. It appears now that neither one of those things is the case."

The Truth About What Happened In Benghazi Matters For The Families Impacted, The American People, and Protecting Our Diplomats Across The Globe. "I don't know how the Obama Administration isn't sullied by this. Steve, you quoted the Hillary Clinton statement, 'what difference does it make?' as she burst out in frustration in a hearing. It does make a difference. It makes a lot of difference, especially to those families who want to know what happened to their children and to their brothers. That's a very important question. These details do matter, because it goes to what is the decision making process, or lack thereof, and what sort of judgments are being put in place as we're protecting not just the men and women on the ground in Libya but all of our diplomats around the world."

The Tough Questions Need To Be Asked About Who Was In The Room When These Decisions Were Being Made. "Who was reviewing this? Who was in those briefings? Where were they? What were they doing when Ambassador Stevens was literally under attack? This is not going to turn out well for this Administration. They have mishandled this from the very beginning."
