U.S. Reps. Bill Huizenga, MI-02, and Rep. Chris Van Hollen, MD-08, Co-Chairs of the bipartisan Congressional Dutch Caucus, today hosted Prime Minister Mark Rutte at a Congressional lunch in honor of his visit to the United States.
“I am pleased by the opportunity to hear firsthand from Prime Minister Rutte about how Europe is working on its financial situation, and to discuss how our countries can work together to strengthen our great relationship, with the Netherlands as one of our top trading partners, creating nearly a million jobs in the U.S. alone,” Rep. Huizenga said. “I was honored to host Prime Minister Rutte today with my colleague Congressman Huizenga. For over 400 years, America and the Netherlands have enjoyed an enduring and productive cultural, commercial, and strategic partnership,” Rep. Van Hollen said. “The strength of our friendship has made both our countries stronger, and I am confident it will continue long into the future.”
